That is the M1... however, if you haven't already purchased it, I'd take a look at this one:
http://www.hughesengines.com/partDetail.asp?partID=12869
This is the one I went with and am happy with it so far (running truck in place - bad transmission).
IMO, the Hughes FI Airgap is worth the extra $100. The Hughes price includes everything you need to install it... gaskets, new hardware, plugs, etc.
But, of course, you weren't asking for other recommendations, were you?...

Is that link working for anyone? Or is my computer just being retarted?

Not working for me either.

Funny because NOBODY has seen any gain with the airgap manifold... not to mention the fuel rail brackets are worse looking than a coat hanger abortion...correction... a RUSTY coat hanger abortion.
Just another one of Hughes overblown claims to sell inferior products. Yanno the whole truth in advertising...lol

I fixed the link.
TurboBlew, you will need to modify your statement from here on out and say NOBODY but 99BM saw gains... :D
With the modification in the fuel injector positioning, it already runs smoother, and is more responsive. So far my experience matches their claims. Of course I'll know more when I can do more than push it down the road.

How are you benchmarking your gains? On a dyno? A dragstrip? MPG?
There is only so much position you can move the fuel injectors before them impead intake flow. ideally you'd want them positioned towards the back of the valve parallel to the incoming air path.
Of course "deshrouding" the injector base and using some multi hole pintle injector will help fuel atomization as well..... and thats about 1/7th the cost of an airgap.

Benchmarking?...:drive:
Allow me to summarize the important points of my posts, maybe that will answer your question.
...runs smoother...more responsive...my experience...bad transmission...
Obviously you've either had a bad experience with Hughes, or with an Airgap. Or, you're an intake manifold engineer and have waaaay more insight into this.
No matter, I have one and I like it!
And to everyone else, I already feel like an ass because it seems I've hijacked this M1 thread and unintentionally turned it into an Airgap debate. My apologies.
Did you go with the M1, fastdodgert?

Did you go from the M1 to the Hughes, or stock to the Hughes?

No cant say Ive had a "bad" experience with Hughes but my own personal testing on my own personal dime has shown they tend to stretch the truth... ALOT!
Lets see... their iron heads dont flow the #s they advertise without moderate amounts of port work. Their F&B knockoff throttle bodies whistle louder than a gaggle of smurfs doing domestic work. Their cams cost $100 more than any other vendor.

Not a debate. Im always interested in seeing different parts work. Just seems that to spend $700 on an intake manifold... Id better see some gain, no matter the motor combo. So far this hasnt been the case with the airgap. For another $700 you can have a sheet metal intake fabbed with longer runners & better injector position that will broaden the torque range and increase high rpm performance.

Jack Willams has an Edelbrock manifold that he had modified for EFI before Hughes even released theirs. IIRC, he said it was not worth the money at all switching over from an M1. Maybe he will chime in at some point.

my truck has the m1 on it now... it came with it.. but i just wanted to know if it was the 2 or 4. but is the hughes worth it?

I went from the stock keg to the Hughes. Most seem to like the M1, so I'm sure I'm in the minority here... I just wish I had data to back up my observations, as TB pointed out.
I have no idea if the Hughes has any better performance data than the M1. This would be the makings of a good dyno showdown. All I have is the numbers from the Hughes site:
Someone mentioned that KRC did some testing, but I was unable to find any info on their site. I have emailed Marty Fletcher (listed at Lead Tech), but have not yet heard back from him. I'd love to know if I threw my $700 at a manifold that at least compares to the M1.
Something I see when comparing these manifolds, is the cost difference. When I chose the FI Airgap over the M1, all I had to buy was the $700 Airgap kit. It came with everything. My research showed that, though the M1 was cheaper, once you buy the installation kit, the prices are almost the same (with the M1 still coming out almost $100 cheaper).
Has anyone else out there actually run both an M1 and an FI Airgap? (obviously not at the same time :D)

Perfect! Thanks for the link. From the talk, I was worried that I went with an intake that wasn't as good as the M1. According to the tests Marty did (on a 408), the numbers were virtually identical.
So... all I did was spend more money for the same thing? Aaahhhh... I see now.
Well, that's another 50 or 60 bucks that I could have put toward my transmission fund...
