I have narrowed my choices down to these two I just need some different point of views to make my decision. So which is better for tuning?? Ive heard about calibration problems with the LC-1 are they true?? How is the logging for them?? Have any of you used the OT-2 device for the LC-1 for your iPhone??
Thanks-Erik

Thanks for the info man. I was thinkin about getting the LC-1 because I heard that for tuning and logging it's was better than the AEM because it was faster but idk... And with the logging do you have to have the laptop in your truck with you or does the Gauge record it and you can get it off the gauge??
Thanks-Erik

I have an LC-1 and I use it with an external datalogger. It is extremely fast, thats one of their claims to fame. The different control strategy is more finicky- most notably sensitive to poor wiring. The LC-1 can be calibrated for sensor aging, the uego can not.
I would generally not reommend tying a diagnostic/sensor device in your car to a fad phone to any extent. The car will be around much longer.

Please excuse the stupid question, what is an external data logger?? Is that like the DL-32?? How would I log with just the LC-1??
Thanks- Erik
I have the zeitronix wideband on my 350 AWHP Eagle Talon and I love it! The logging capabilities of it are awesome, and you can add inputs to it to log boost, water temp, exhaust temp, and a couple other that I cant think of right now. Check them out.
I have the AEM on my Evo X but I havent used the logging part yet, and Im going to switch it to zeitronix because it seems a little slow to respond.

I talked to the innovate guys at SEMA, the OT-2 reads all of the obd2 parameters and sends them out via WiFi, it will work with any WiFi phone or laptop, the iPhone was just picked for advertising reasons. You still need the LC1 connected to the OT2 to read the A/F, but they sell it as a package for slightly less than the LM2 setup

See I was looking at those yesterday and just kinda blew them off Ive never heard of them so I just kind of migrated away from their site. But since u say you love it I might have to go back and look at it again. I'm guessing you have the Zt2??
And can you PLEASE answer the question I have been asking in the past 3 threads, how does the logging work? Do you have to use ur laptop in the truck with you while you drive or does the gauge save it and you get it off the gauge
When you get home??

Yea, I was looking at that a lot last night but then I just got to the point where I said this will probably be a waste of money to get the OT-2..
Ps- and can I say that your truck is BEA- Utiful!!:D
Yes I have the ZT2. They basically started as DSM guys and the guy that developed it knew he could make a better product for cheaper when he started modding his DSM. They also send you software updates for things like different screen views, etc.
Yes I use a laptop for data logging. I bought the laptop for 100 bucks and it does everything I need (just logging), I use it when I do logging while driving. I will take the Talon out with a laptop and do quite a few pulls to get the tuning done, then go home and put the laptop away and just drive the car until I need to make some changes.

If you want data logging you will need to provide a laptop with the LC-1. It has no internal storage. An LM-2 will log internally so you don't have to lug a laptop along with you. I've had two LM-1's and have no complaints on their logging abilities.

Sweet man that sounds great I'll give it another look today and see. And with the ZT2 I'm guessing you just got the little screen thing (sorry for lack of knowlege about these things lol) with it?? If you do where is it mounted in your car??
Ps- thanks for answering my question.:hail:
Actually right now I dont have anyway to see it without the laptop. Whats nice, is you can buy the gauge or the screen later. Im going to buy it as soon as I sell the AEM in the Evo. I like the gauge because it can display 2 different things at once (you can have the LED read out boost, and the little LED ring display the wideband, and even have the LED read out cycle through a few different things) plus the gauge is smaller then the screen
EDIT: When I get the gauge, I will mount it in a gauge pod on my steering column. Its so thin that you could just mount it on the face of your dash with double sided tape. Thats what one of my friends did.

In this case it was my standalone ECU. I just wanted to point out the only aspect of the LC-1 that I used for logging was it's analog output.

This is great lol. Thanks for all the info man I really appreciate it!! Oh and for logging purposes how fast does the zietronix read compared to the LC-1?? Because I knew that was the main reason alot of people bought the LC-1 was because of it's speed.

Sweet ok thanks man!!
I dont know any particular numbers for speed but I think the site should tell you the numbers. I have never used the LC-1. I have never noticed any kind of lag with my zt2

Ok cool thanks man. The only reason holding me back from jumping up and going to order it now is that the price... I can buy the LC1 with the gauge for 180 on amazon... Or the zietronix for 279 without a Gauge... Not sure what to do..
I didnt realize the LC1 was so cheap. I have no experience with the LC1 though. It might be nice to find someone local that has one on their car so you can play with it and see how you like it. Even if its someone who doesnt have a Dakota, the way it works will be the same. My friend used my Zietronix, and he fell in love and bought one the next week.
What are you going to use for tuning? Another reason I picked the Zietronix, is because it was able to connect and run with DSMLink(tuning software for my DSM) on my laptop on one screen and overlap the two different programs, so take that into consideration as well.

I will be using it for just straight a/f gauge for tuning only. The only reason I'm
Ordering it is because I do email tuning with Sean (hemifever) and I need one so he can tune me as accurately as possible.
Ok cool. Maybe contact him and ask him what he likes. The format of what he is looking at will be important and make his life easier, since you arent doing the tuning yourself, it comes down to the preference of your tuner. Let me know what he says

"I have the zeitronix and innovate software to read logs and both work real good. Whichever is easiest on your wallet I guess lol" - that's his exact words.
hahah. Well then, get whatever is cheaper! haha. Good to know he uses the zeitronix, so if I ever want to send him some logs I can!

i have the db gauge and wideband o2 and the ssi from innovate, my opinion it worked good but had to many other issues goin on at the moment to really proceed to go further so i went back to just the wideband setup to watch for lean conditions

Hows the data logging with AEM? Can you do basically the same thing with a laptop?
