I installed a B&M mega shifter in under 24hrs. I had to bend and grind the supplied 727 bracket a bit to make it not bend the cable. Wasn't too bad if you follow instructions. Hardest part was routing cable away from headers and still having it come in at a nice angle that didn't bend the cable.

You can download the instructions off the B&M website to see what you're getting into.
With any shitfer it'll be a custom install to mount it in the cab.

had to massage my bellhousing a tad with a grinder so the cable wasnt too close to the headers

I didn't. Maybe it's a later model thing though, since mine's a '98?

I ordered the longer cable after my first one broke,it will allow you to run it with less stress on the cable. Any hard angles will kill the life of your cable. As far as the bracket I just notch it slightly and put some 1/8 inch washers/spacers and longer pan bolts to help the angle of the cable where it comes into the shift linkage at the trans. Did it in about 8 hrs time. Pay close attention to where your shifter needs to be to get your shift pattern right so the trans and your shifter are on the same page. Good luck its not bad

I notched my bellhousing as well and ran the HD cable which i think is a little more flexible than the regular cable but i could be wrong about that. Hardest part of my installation was modifying the center console to fit the megashifter and keeping it looking as good as possible.

I have read some posts on Dak-Dur web forum that some people are using the stock cable with the floor shifters. Sounds like it would be a lot easier but I haven't been able to get any information on it. What do you guys think?>

I really dont see how that would work or why you would want to the ends of the cable are pretty specific to the shifter and trans shift bracket. The B&M truck mega shifter is what I have. Works great and it comes WITH a cable.

This is on the way. They don't make them anymore, found this one bnib for $120 shipped (they were $400 new). Yes, there will be pics of it installed. Thinking about finding the small console that came with the bench seats to put in front of it, don't know if I could live without cupholders. :D

I have the console I used, it's a Durango console with back AC ducts cut off which enable it to be moved back...It's gutted, my fire bottle was in it, it has cup holders
Interested in it? Send me a PM.

Thanks, but I'm talking about the small one that's just two cup holders and a small pocket, like this:
