Well I can say one thing don't do a burnout with the nitrous switch on. I acidently left it on when i did my burnout at the track and I had the dreadful nitrous backfire (not good). After rolling it back off the line i checked it out and looks like i'm going to need a new cai or try and fix the one i have. I now have a nice litte dent in my hood, so i may be looking for a new hood here in the future.

What dumb asses. That's what happens when you get someone who is cocky behind a ford.

Hmmm, I've left it on a couple times during a burnout and never had a problem with it. What intake manifold are you running and where is your shark nozzle located?

Hell, I used to do it as a purge! Never had any issues either.

I've even banged it off the stock rev limiter a few times, because I left it in 1st gear after a burnout. Doh!

I think the lesson here is; if it's not right, don't juice it at all.

I'm using a k&n kipk with the shark nozzle located approx 6 inches from the tb on the backside of the tube.

And what intake manifold?

Also, be damn sure the shark nozzle is pointing with the air flow, not against it.

I am using a 2bbl m1 and the nozzle facing the throttle body.

That all seems right enough then.

If it is a valve train problem that's causing your ticking and loss of compression, I'm wondering if it's not a couple of bent valves? Either that, or maybe broken springs? Something is hanging them open and causing both the loss of compression and the hideous backfire, which was fueled by the NX system. The nitrous just happened to be there when it happened, so to speak. At least, that's what it sounds like to me.

well i tore into the top of the motor today and found nothing. I did several different types of pressure tests and they didn't look good. I think its now in the rings. I hooked my air compressor up to the spark plug hole and at 100psi it was blowing straight through the motor coming through all of the oil galleys. I took the head off and everything looked great with them no bent valves, broken springs. Tomorrow i am pulling the motor and really find out what is going on. But I think i'm am fixing to be in for a rebuild.:jerkit: Did someone mention 408
