Anyone know exaclty what wire on our trucks is the night-time diming one? So the gauges turn on/off when you turn on the headlights and light up the main gauge? I'm looking to wire up a Water temp gauge and a voltmeter gauge for now. Any advise before I get started? Looking at getting the cyberdyne electric gauges. Or unless someone else can recommend a better one that would light up blue to match the rest of my lights?

Cyberdynes SUCK! You can get autometers in your choice of flavor and put in blue LED bulbs. I ordered some white LED bulbs for mine. Or if you go with the regular bulbs they have blue boots to put over them. In fact I have a bunch of the blue boots I can send you for free if I can find them.
I believe the wire was black/yellow on the switch - but dont quote me on that, its a 9 year old memory - but test that one out.

It's pretty easy to take a 12v test light and probe the headlight switch wires. I hooked mine to the one that dims, so the pillar gauges were lighted with the same intensity as the others. As far as the color goes, I used a green tinted bulb to match the gauges. You can buy tinted bulbs at the auto parts stores.
I also used one of those clamp on wire splices, so I didn't have to cut the wire.

Alright I'll check out the autometer ones. Where should I tap in for the water temperature sensor?

My 4bbl M1 has another port for a water temp sensor - maybe the 2bbl does too (i think that is what you have). Should be right by the factory temp sensor. Otherwise go to ACE and get a brass T and union and use the factory sensor port on the manifold.

glowshift has some decent gauges also, but they are a tad longer than the autometers so they stick out of the pod a little less than 1/8"

Do you want to paint the pillar pod? I'd suggest just going to the stealership and grabbing a can of their interior touch up paint. You have the dark interior right? Agate?

I found some pods that already come painted so won't need any now. BCC gauges came today and my floormats should be here within the next day or two. Last thing for my interior is a set of Viper seats that I'll get re-stiched locally to color match and than a Viper snake logo in place of the "Viper" font. Plus the gauge pod but I'm hoping to get everything for that ordered on monday. Should look pretty sweet when lite up at night

Its a nice pod and the only option we had 9 years ago....however I think the propods has a tad better fit/finish/gauge angle for our trucks. Either way you wont be disappointed I dont think.

I've had the Lotek triple pod in my R/T for over 6 years with no problems. My 1st impression was that it was pretty flimsy, but once mounted, it's rock-solid.

I'll probably go that route than. I found a site that sells the Mopar Agate spray paint cans so I'll go on ahead and order it.

That's what I did. I can't remember where I bought them, but I bought 3 cans of agate interior paint for $8 total with shipping, about 6 or 7 years ago. The cans are fairly small but matched the original paint to a T.
