To anyone interested in attending the All-Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle next year, the dates are July 8-11, 2011. You can save a whopping $5.oo if you register online or over the phone between Dec 17 & Dec 31 2010. Be sure to say you are with the Dakota R/T Club, NOT DRTC, so that we can get the tent again this year. They can not put the coralation between the two so you have to be specific. See yah all there!!

We have the tent automatically next year since we had enough people this year. The next size tent doesn't happen until 75 vehicles IIRC so we'll get what we had last year.

Believe it or not(!), the Holiday Inn wants us back again next year. I haven't even talked to them about a block of rooms yet. I was going to wait until after the new year to call about that.

Bump, is there going to be a group hotel rate or is it every man for himself?

mtlcafan79
02-06-2011, 02:16 AM
I have to call what's her name at the hotel during the week some day and find out what they can offer us. It may just be a free for all as last year they made us sign an agreement, fees, etc. Dunno if I want to do that again or not.

mtlcafan79
02-22-2011, 01:15 PM
So I talked to the hotel. They offered us the same rate as their online rate and want us to sign up front saying we are responsible to pay for ten rooms to reserve a block. I want nothing to do with that this year. It's everyone for themselves.

Please note that the hotel has changed their name to Park Inn Harrisburg West.

I'm thinking of going to Carlisle Friday around lunch time, hitting up the sprint cars Friday night, Saturday at the fairgrounds, dinner somewhere, karts, brefis sunday morning and go home. Nothing crazy like last year. No crazy events, no banquet, no planning!

mtlcafan79

Carlisle has nothing to do with the DRTC club. You just show up and you will be classed by vehicle type. If you register and choose Dakota R/T Club it goes towards our count of 25 vehicles needed to have a tent for free. We get one automatically this year as we had well over 25 trucks last year. Next year might be an issue.

I took my 98 Dakota R/T to the Chrysler Nationals at Carlise only once in 1999. It cost me a fortune in gas then. 10 MPG all the way there and all the way back. I couldn't even make it to Carlise on 1 tank of gas, had to fill up before getting to the fairgrounds because the gas light was on. My old beat up high mileage 4 wheel drive Ramcharger with a carburator no less went there and back home and went to back and forth to work for 2 more days on one tank of gas. I can't imagine driving it to Carlise now with gas at $4 a gallon. It's staying right there in my garage.

With the mods I made, it doesn't matter if I use cruise control, floor it, feather it, 30 MPH or 80 MPH, it's 10 MPG all day long and never changes. The price I pay for power. Oh well, the biggest reason why it only has 17,000 original miles. I'll take it to the 40th Anniversary of the Dakota R/T at Carlise, see ya in 2038, it will be in tow behind my hovercraft.

not a monster by any means, but a mid 12's on motor in a Club Cab(decent cam, big valve heads, 4bbl M1, monster TB, etc) , one tank i got 15.5mpg.
