Rick Adam's 98 IB RC was built in 97. not sure when, but it's one of the pilot vehicles for our beloved R/T's. the rarest of rare right there :hail:

Both of the 99's I had were slugs. One only broke into the 15's one time and that was a 15.99. The second 99 was a mid 15 with mods. My 00 would run a 14.99 bone stock. The 03 I have now ran 15.2's.

I believe i have seen this question asked before and someone else sad the 2000 was the fastest year.Something to do with the bigger injectors and a better (factory) ECU.Then in 2001 they changed something but thats all i remember.

well mine was far from a slug stock, it depends on alot of things at the track

Yep. That's the one you want.

Mine ran 14.87 with just a filthy KN filter and my green ass racing it.

I always thought that in 2000 is when they got faster. The 98-99 had less hp and in 2000 is when they changed some things around and got some more power. I had 2 2000's a RC and CC and both stock ran mid to high 14's.

i think it all depends on the driver and the track, i dont think other that a few tweaks here and there these trucks where different year to year

Nope, they are all the same. Altitude has ALOT to do with how fast people run....that and driver skill

I dont know what they changed. My 99 felt way faster than my 00 when it was stock. Best mph I ever got with the 00 was 99 with headers, cold air, and mopar PCM.

Bone stock '98 CC R/T
Bought it in April of '98
14.64 @ 92+ mph at the '98 Truckin' Nationals.

A mid-14 second timeslip was just about unheard of for a stock R/T at that time. As usual, it was hotter than hell that weekend, and most of the stock R/Ts were in the mid-15s. Luckily there were probably 20 other R/T guys at the race that watched it go lap after lap all weekend. It started out running 15.0s on saturday morning... and it kept getting sequentially just a hair quicker on each pass. I was learning how to drive it better, and I burned my way thru the work-hardened rubber on the outside of the stock RSA's and got to some fresh stuff in the middle. It sure was funny to see a fellow Dakota guys come over and look the truck over to find what I'd done.... which was nothing.

I sure got a ration of shit when I got online when I posted up the times! :burnout:

Ahhh yes, the "good old days", when a 14 second timeslip was something to brag about! LOL

Hahahaha, that's what we ALWAYS say around here

Or my favorite....
IF I was only at CECIL, I know it would go faster! (insert joke about short or downhill track here) LOL!

I just went to weatherunderground.com and pulled up the weather info for the Truckin' Nationals date in '98.

95°F, 30% Humidity, 29.74 Barometric pressure, 1200' track altitude.
4158' Density Altitude... which is pretty good for our area. Usually the Baro is lower or the temp is higher. We don't get much "mineshaft" air around here.

Now for the funny/unbelievable part of the story. According to the ModularDepot website, that DA would correct out to a 13.88 @ 96.78 mph at a sea-level track on a decent day. You know that ain't right! :rockwoot:

im just saying at 95, with the crappy goodyear rsa tires, i think i could have got some more out of it, i dont think it was a bad run for a stock truck

Duner

I would say that was flying for a stock truck... regardless of temps or track.

cant wait to see what it runs on the new cam and head setup, with a 150 shot. 220/232 578/570 112lsa with a 3200rpm stall

I was making passes at a track rental... but I wasnt prepared to run the RT. Since the clutches were heating up on my bikes I made a few for giggles.
Kept running 15.2@88.x... on everypass. Bone stock, club cab with RSAs and full weight. Prolly could have pulled the intake and gotten a 14 sec pass. 60fts were 2.1x on every pass too...lol

my 99 cc ran 15.2 stock with a flow only. and it is not a slug.

Mine still feels like a slug. I'm not much to notice about how something feels. I have to see a slip. I have K&N, LT headers, magnaflow, and Mopar PCM. Not sure what I'd run but hopefully it would break 14's.
