I don't have one but just posting what I saw at the Mopar Nationals the past two years. 408 procharged running mid 13's. He said he was running faster on the stock 360 and prochargeer, now it doesn't support enough flow for the 408 and is seeing very low psi. I saw his run and took a pic of the slip on his seat, 2.1 60' and 13.6 @ 102. I think he was doing his own tuning with the SCT prp also.

Wonder if his setup just didn't match well. I know the p1sc should be able to feed that no problem. I talked with procharger and they said it would be sufficient enough to feed a 408. Hoping someone would have first hand experience with one on a 408

Wow, that's SLOW! My mild 408 runs 13.0 @ 108 all motor!

The head unit is the problem, a P1SC cannot support the 408, he needs at least a D1SC.

Gotta love the lime green.I remember getting a set of lime green ignition wires for my Volare Road Runner. It was black with a 360 and an 833 O/D 4 speed.Really stood out with all the black and chrome.Lasted about a week ,till they melted on the headers.g/f at the time wanted a set of hot pink for her car.

If you look at the comparison of the two the arent much different. The d1 does flow a bit more but its not much more. I called procharger and they said it was more than enough, but thats why I'm asking guys who have had experience with them. Keep the posts coming:woot:

I don't remember who it was but there's someone who had a P1 and then switched to a 408 and found they couldn't make more than I want to say about 425rwhp. Finally swapped headunits and they gained another 30-40 rwhp without adding boost. It was awhile ago, maybe someone else remembers who or it was or perhaps I'm not remembering correctly.

I wonder if the head units are interchangeable between the p1 and d1

Yo, just read your other thread about wanting to go supercharged. What cc's are your heads? Have you had them cc'd?

I don't really remember now. I have some paper work and flow numbers somewhere from when they were ported. Why you ask?

Your compression ratio could be a little lower if you calculated it with the advertised 58 cc. Most of the eddy heads are not 58 cc, I have heard they can be off like 66 cc out of the box.

That's a good point. I know when they did the head work they asked me what the dish on my piston was, which I believe was like -12cc dish and they figured an end comp ratio of like 10:8:1 or something like that. I know I can't run much boost but I just wanted to make sure its a good kit for when I decide to change piston down the road

Pat,
If that guy is running the stock procharger intercooler setup, I believe, after running that kit years ago that the intercooler they give you and the piping with all the bends and curves is far too restrictive to feed a 360 not to mention a 408....just my opinion.
And as far as the OP goes - it sounds like you found a good deal on a procharger kit and are trying to justify buying it. With some tweaks it isnt a bad setup.

rtspeeddemon is the one with the procharged 408 that didn't work too well. I think he started with the p1 on the 360, went to a 408 and found out the p1 wasn't adequate so he went with the d1, or maybe he went with a paxton novi 2000 instead I don't really know. Either way, he's ended up with a turbo now which seems to be doing just fine. :jester: If I were you I wouldn't listen to what Procharger has to say. You may end up disappointed if so.

Nonsense!!!!
I ran a P-1SC on my 408 and lost HP once it was stroked from the 360 as the P-1SC could no longer support the volume of air the 408 required. The local Pro-Charger rep just laughed at me and said the P-1SC could not possibly work and supply air to the larger 408.
There is a HUGE difference between a P-1SC and a D-1SC.
Been there done that.

Yes for aprox $1,300 US pro-charger will convert to a D-1SC.

Thanks for the comments. I own the green and purple motor Dakota. Does anyone want to buy it to make it run faster?
