Hi All, I Have A 2k R/t And Am Getting Ready To R&r My Trans. After Checking Prices Of Reman Or Rebuilt, I Am Not Sure Of Which Route To Go. Reman From Jasper Is $2400.00 / Rebuilt Anywhere From $1200.00 - $1800.00. Found A Local Trans Rebuilder Who Said He Would Rebuild Mine For A $1000.00. I Am Looking For The Most Painless Way To Do This Job. Am Considering A Performance Trans Also. Any Advise On Which Direction To Go? Or If Anyone Has Had To Replace A Trans On An R/t , Do You Have Any Info That Might Help? Thanks, Ray

i would say go with a performance rebuilt so you don't have to worry about it again. Make sure you get the extra clutches and the heavy duty bands. Also what will make this combo rock is a good tuned valve body which will take away some of the shift over lap and actually make the trans last longer along with a firmer shift.

Stay local if you can and get a good performance rebuild. I say stay local, that way if there are any problems, you don't have to worry about pulling the trans and shipping it to wherever you bought it from, you can drop it off at the shop, and hopefully they will warranty their work.
