Gonna replace the speakers in my truck because one of them is trashed. Right now everything is the stock Infiniti system except the head unit which is an Alpine CDA-9856 (which I'm NOT happy with, but that's another story).

I've already decided on using Alpine SPS-600C's for the doors but I have what may be a simple question: Do I ignore the factory tweeter wiring and use the crossovers that come with the speakers or just wire them into the existing stuff and use whatever crossover is built into the stock amp?

I have those in my front doors. i do not see crossovers left in my box and preety sure looking at the box that it didnt come with crossovers For a point of interest though you can unscrew you factory tweeters pop out the faceplate thats exhisting i used a razorblade to even it up and it leaves looking like they were always there.

I would bypass the factory amp and run the speakers directly from the head unit. Talking to a guy from a car audio shop out here, the factory 'Infinity' amp only puts out about 13w/ch, if that. The reason it was installed in the first place was to compensate for the lack of power from the factory head unit, so it was an 'upgrade'.

For what its worth, the SPS-600c's DO come with inline crossovers (aka: filters). I don't think I'll be using them though, just going to connect directly to the factory wiring (tweeters and woofers are separate) and see how it sounds.

Update to this:

I just took a look at the electrical schematic for the audio system of my truck. The tweeters don't come directly from the amp, they're simply Tee'd off of the lines that go to the woofers, the crossover or filter will be necessary for this.
