Drove 16 hours to pick this up yesterday. Its a 94 with a 380 hp 360 crate motor, built 727 with a manual valve body and a 8 3/4" rear with a locker and 3.55 gears. Need some paint but the body is in pretty good shape with zero rust and only a little surface rust on the frame.

Just finished gutting behind my dash. It really isn't that hard pulling the dash. Just take your time and unhook as many wires/grounds you can. Then undo bolts for the mounts. Out she comes, granted she is kinda heavy.

Change in 91 was the front grill and headlights were changed up. More of a aero friendly type look. that and it was the first year for the 318 to be factory installed. Granted it only made 170hp and 260lbft and was tbi but it was factory installed. Not shoe horned in like the Shelby. Also the first year for 6x4.5 bolt pattern.

Why not a 4-link?
ladder bar will work fine.
-I dont feel like fucking with the adjustments every run
-cheaper
-dont need a antiroll bar setup
-not driven alot on the street
-And I may back half it in the future and im not paying for a 4link setup twice.

Pick up that book Chassis Masters or whatever its called, I didn't bring it with me, but lots of good info.
- Once you adjust it to where it has to be should only be shock and pressure changes for either set up. Ladder bar is also not as adjustable and is more violent.
- Only cost increase will be the labor for the 4 link brackets
- Anti roll bar? You mean a locater bar?
- Wouldn't you have to do the ladder bar system again regardless if you backhalfed it?

I have read the book
With the inconsistency of capitol I would be messing with the adjustments every run and if I decided to go to MIR I would be back at square one. If you want a 4 link to work well then its a good idea to have a roll bar. Its not a locator bar or a whisbone. It stops the truck from rolling to one side which a ladder bar is not even able to do. A ladder bar should be more than enough for the truck and if I back half it then I will probably be at the point where I would need a 4-link. The ladder bar is about 2-3k cheaper. The ladder bar is adjustible. There are 4 points at the IC that are adjustible and then you adjust the pinion angle at the back of the bars. The higher you go up at the IC the harder you hit the tires.

How is it 2-3k cheaper?
4 link 3-400
Install 1200
Panhard bar - 120 (Is this what you are talking about as an anti-roll bar?)
Am I missing something here?

An anti-roll bar is not a panhard, wishbone or a track locator. Its an anti-roll bar...
This is what Im talking about
http://autofabcart.net/afrc-extremedutyantirollbar.aspx
If im not mistaking you also went with mild steel. One main reason I got the gen 2 is because its lighter so I would go all chromoly which adds up. Also I would go with a whishbone instead of a panhard. I am getting EVERYTHING (including all parts, shocks, springs, front and rear loop, frame boxing) for 2200. Just the anti roll bar is 1500. The four link needs more labor and a custom wishbone is not cheap. When you add an anti-roll bar the 4 link basically becomes a ladder bar setup except for the fact that is has more adjustment with I dont feel like messing with. The ladder bar will be fine with the short wheel base and longer bars (33")

nope. Just a little here and there.
I talked to him about the shocks. From eye to eye as they sit on the truck they measure 14" and are supposed to be set between 13.5-14.5". There is 3" of travel up and down. There really is really no advantage to going with a super long shock and it screws up your pinion angle when there is alot of travel. For the shock mounts they are now set on the top hole with 5 adjustments total, each one about a 1". The springs are 12" rated at 110 lb and will probably be set 1-2" up from the bottom.

Ah, I guess it just looks short. I think mine are only an inch longer. Just nice to have a good ride if you ride on the street.

Looks good, all the welds look decent and they should hold up well. I picked up a gen 2 awhile back for $600 with the 3.9 v6 and a burned up auto tranny. I found a brand new chrysler tranny that was left over and never used for $650. I'm liking the truck the gen 2 is def a good platform and maybe a year or 2 i'm going to go the direction your going. I might build a mild 360 for the r/t and drop the 408 in the gen2 and really hose it down with some spray I figured I can clip some high 9's on spray in the gen 2.

He has already spent so much on the R/T and it looks great, but if he is just not happy with the performance that he has gotten for his investment and is getting this just to go down the track... then thats understandable. But hopefully he doesnt think he can make one of these things look good.

Havent exactly decided yet. Probably a billet 82mm or a cast 88mm with a 96mm 1.32 a/r or a 99mm 1.23 a/r. Im waiting on a email but I have a feeling it will be a borg warner race cover 82mm with a worked 96mm 1.32 a/r t6 flange. The deciding factor will be the price lol

talked to Reed at supernatural today and he feels I will be at the limit of the borg warner S400. He wants to go with a garrett unit based on the Gt55. It will have a TV88mm compressor with a 99mm turbine and 1.08a/r. From my understanding there is a newer 88mm out called the hp88 that stands for high pressure. That compressor works better with higher boost while the older (mid 90s) works better with lower boost numbers and produces more torque. I dont have 18 head bolts and my rpm range is fairly short so the TV88 will work better. He has seen 300 more flywheel torque with the tv vs hp with the same boost numbers. He also has a few parts laying around that were used for testing so I should be able to get a good deal with the same warranty.

He wont even deal with a t4 flange. Price new is 2200. I will be between 1200-1600 depending on what he as laying around. Comp turbo does not have the history or reputation that supernatural does. Im not against new things but he suggested a 115mm turbine which seems huge for me. I dont think it will even fit in a gen 3 engine bay. It will be a tight fit for me without moving the motor back. Here is an idea of the size. I think the compressor is a little bit bigger but he offers it it with a different housing thats 1" shorter.

Almost seems like the turbo would have to be oriented differently in order to work better. Exhaust pointing straight back filter to the front and the air inlet over by the A/C system. I would work fine, it it was re-aligned I think.

gt55 compressor housing with a 88mm wheel. 99mm gt47 turbine. .96 a/r housing with t6 flange. He wanted to start me off with a small a/r and increase it as I increase power. I will move up to a 1.08 then a 1.23 at no extra charge. .96 should spool 1000rpms faster then a 1.23. 1.23 would be good for a larger bore R3 setup.

Exhaust will be kinda like this. I have to 45* up and to the fender out of the turbo and then 45* level and out of the fender when it gets to the fire wall. Doing this so I can get the forward cage bars in.

Its pretty tight with the lower rad hose there. This way also gives me a good spot for the wastegate. When you have the two pipes merge at the turbo they only way to have the wastegate there is to 90* off the merge. This is bad because there is poor flow to the gate and the control is reduced even more with the large amount of turbulence. The gate will be on the 3" 90 and the straight piece before it will allow the turbulence to reduce giving me better control.
