how many of youll have used the resistor in the IAT sensor plug to give the computer a false reading? if so how much of a difference performance wise?

And for the guys who have relocated the IAT closer to the filter, how much of a difference?

Thanks

Aaron

I can't quote you an exact number, but back in '99 I was on the hunt for n/a 13's and ran across that mod. It did help, but I don't know how much.

alot of people talk about how it messed up their motor, b/c it would not pull timing or fuel. etc??????????

I found no change in putting a resistor in my IAT signal but... I had a problem when in the summer I would get to the track & the engine would be nice & hot, the computer would pull timing out so my first pass would always be worthless, I took one of the resistors & with scotch locks I added one to the signal wire from the temp sensor then in between the two scotch locks I cut the wire & added a micro toggle switch, now when I get to the track I throw the switch the computer thinks the engine is cool & I get better information on my time slip.

ok thank you. i think i am just going to move my iat sensor closer to the filter. when i read the temp of the m1 today it was at 138, and that was with not running for 30 minutes or so. so i know that sensor is picking up some bad readings.

as long as the sensor is seeing a steady intake stream... then the only way it would give false readings is if its malfunctioning.
