No dice...
I had a console mod done so I can use a B&M shifter. Now I am trying to match the modified piece to the original base.

Tried the color code from the dealer (dark slate gray) out on on old interior piece as a test. Color does not match.

I was thinking... since the fancy trucks seem to paint their interior, or parts of their interior, the color of the exterior maybe I could/should just paint the new piece black like the exterior of the truck. I could just use Krylon fusion. What do you think? I doubt I will ever match the paint as the color trim color does not even match. I saw this on the posted console mods when they painted the "new" console red and/or blue etc...

Thanks for input.

Here's an example of what I am talking about...http://dakotart.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1084&d=1225651548

Looks like this one came black from the factory... http://home.comcast.net/~seanmca79/pistolgrip.jpg

I bought mopar paint from the dealer for the interior and it was a perfect, and I mean absolute perfect match. Any chance you got the wrong code. There are 3 or 4 different colors for our trucks.

I gave the dealer the VIN and he told me dark slate gray. That's what was mixed, but it does not match the console. It does however seem to match the doors and some of the other plastic pieces. He had no other codes to give me on the console color.
I painted it black today. Fusion works great. Dries quick to. If I don't like it I can always try to find the other paint. I have the other console piece to test on.

Looks like your existing parts are Mist Gray. Have you tried that?

Ya I guess it may have been confusing. I was posting those pics as examples I found of the owner painting the shifter housing black. Thanks for the in site though.
