I'm about to start ordering fittings and hose, but have a bit of a technical question...

the bosses on my intercooler are 1/2 NPT. I'm wondering if i should oversize the supply a little, and undersize the return a little. i understand you can only flow so much through a hole so big, pressure remaining constant... but:

would oversizing the supply line let the water stay cooler on it's way to to the IC, given there is more mass to hold the temperature?

Conversely, would it be a good idea to undersize the return to let the heat bleed out on it's way back?

What about types of water line? insulate the supply and not the return? i see a lot of people running the home depot clear tube with the nylon cross-hatching... is this the stuff to use, or do i see it just because its cheap?

i have a summit shopping cart full of 1/2npt to -12AN shit... just stick with that?

Mass flow rate of your cooling medium is what you are most concerned with. Leave both lines the same size.
