You can pull the freeze plugs to drain the block of coolant, so when you pull the heads coolant doesn't go everywhere! Seperate your bolts. And make sure to not tighten the RRs too tight.

Aluminum pump as in electric? Make sure you can route the rest of the accesories still. I remember a few guys trying that only to find out it's tough to get the belt to wrap in the correct places.

you'll need longer pushrods too
your waterpump is already aluminum
what year is your R/T and do you have a console ? I can show you some tricks as far as mounting the shifter, relocating the OD button, removing the stock shifter yada yada. Also, consider a TCI or Hurst 1/4 stick shifter, they already come with a buttom that works great for the OD

Yeh, just looks like a stock replacement pump. Probably a good idea to swap out anyway, while you're in there! :foshizzle:

If your cam is a regrind, chances are you will need longer pushrods.

Or, he can just remove the drain plug on each side of the block and leave the freeze plugs intact :nana:

The drain plugs in the block are removable? I've never been able to get the damn things out. I was putting so much torque on them I was afraid I'd bust or strip the frickin' thing.

If it's a left hand thread.....don't tell me, OK.
