I just had a C-notch put in and let me tell you the ride is day and night. I think part of what makes the hotchkis so rough is the clearance on the rear. Now if feels smooth as a baby's butt, ok not that smooth, but a big difference.

I don't remember where I got it from because I have had it for about two years, just never put it on. Sorry. Guy here can custom make them though.

As far as performance goes, it doesn't matter which way the boots go on the shocks, but for longevity, he'd want to put them boots down so any condensation can drain out the drain holes in the bottom of the boots(top the way he has them)

So you are saying I should leave them the way they are?

Got my bracket yet?

Off topic and I know that you just painted your truck but I think 'more blue' when I see it. Guess that I just like blue so much that I'd like to see it with the bumpers, wheel moldings, and rocker panels painted blue. Good exercise for a photo-chopper maybe.

If i was going to do that, then the whole truck would go blue, or I'd sell it and just buy a IB truck again. I've never been a fan of the "stripe" down the side, which is pretty much what you are describing. It's going to stay with the same style paint job from now on. Only thing added will be some sort of thin stripe to separate the two colors and add a little contrast.

It really doesn't make a difference in performance of the shocks, but I'd switch them around. And Yes, I still haven't gotten the bracket shipped off. I've been working 6-days a week and till 8-9PM on the weekdays this whole month and haven't had time to do anything. Most days I've only seen my kids for 20-30 minutes in the morning before I leave for work, and most of that time is spent with me getting ready for work. By the time I get home they are in bed already. Sometimes it seems like I barely have time to wipe my ass. This weekend will be no different and I'll be working Saturday again. I have it in a box, just haven't had time to get to the post office to ship it off.

Aren't you married? Can your wife send it out?

Yes it is.

The wife could send it out, but she doesn't want to deal with hauling a 2yo and a 1yo in and out of the van, then try to stand in line at the post office to mail it out. Look, I'm not trying to screw you, and usually I ship very promptly, but this whole month has been very busy for me at work, and the worst part is with as much time as I've spent at work, not a lot has been accomplished at work, or at home.

I know your not trying to screw me, but someone at work is screwing you. What the hell are you guys working on that you have to be at work so damn long. Even with I was working 18 hour days to turn in tanks I still made time during lunch or somewhere along the line. Your leadership sucks ass.

Who's doing your PC work? http://rmscustompowdercoating.com/ Those guys do stuff for me since they are local. Did a kick ass job on everything so far. One to two day turn around time.

These dudes, nothing fancy, just gloss black to match the truck. But I need the other bracket to get them done at the same time.

We almost dynoed there once. I think have a bracket in my garage and some other parts from my heads swap over the summer that I need to sell. Timing cover, and some other random crap. It's burried until spring garage clean out though.

I'm a Navy Recruiter, and trying to find new victi......er prospects this time of year is hard. If I'm not out trying to talk to people, I'm in the office on the phone. And if they saw me with a personal package I was trying to mail off when I should be prospecting, they'd get pissed. Especially since I haven't gotten anyone in this month.

OK, so how involved of a project is it to remove the bed? Looks like the c-notch is easy enough, with nothing in the way. How many hours --start to finish?

mtlcafan79
03-28-2008, 01:31 PM
Removing the bed is a couple bolts, filler neck, and a couple plugs for your lights. It's more big and bulky than anything.

I'm definitely doing this over the summer now that I got a MIG.
