I know a few people have wanted to do this mod and have tried to figure out how to do it while keeping cupholders and what not along the way. Well its done. Had to make a very steep angle bracket and custom console. If you want to get these parts to put this in your truck PM so I can give you the guys info to be able to install it. Its not complete yet, but pretty damn close.

OK, I ordered the set up a few weeks back and it all arrived this passed Thursday. I installed the shifter Friday.
The bracket works great. I had to drill one new hole for the back driver's side as there was a hole in the floor board that was too close to where I would have needed to drill to use original hole.
Console craftsmanship is great. Color did not match though. I tried the dealer for a paint code and had a local paint supply mix it up. It does not match either. I think the interior paint code is for the door panels and some other parts, but not the steering column shroud (which is black) or the console (which is... I don't know what color). I painted it black, as I have seen other models that came w/ that section black.
BTW the shifter is installed on my 45rfe and so far it seems to work fine... If anyone cares I can explain the bracket setup I used.

PICTURES!!!

Did not take any during install as I do not have a cheap point and shoot, only my pro camera gear. I plan on getting the console in tomorrow and will post pics.
As I said, I can explain the cable bracket set up if anyone is interested.

Here's a pic of it installed... I think the boot hole may be cut lower than on yours causing the boot to get in the way of shifting into L1 and L2.

Man you have a lot of gadgets. That boot might be the problem. Ill call later out with the parents right now.

Thanks. When I look at yours and compare to mine I thing the boot sits further up towards the top on yours. No way to fix it except to have it totally redone.

Yea you look like you have a little more forward, that was one of the changes I told him to make. A custom shifter boot would fix everything.

I think that's a change that should not have been made, unless the shifter bracket was moved forward about an inch.
When you ratchet the shifter to L1 and L2 the shift arm is less than 1/4" from the glass. That's w/ the boot out. No wonder it did not want to go into L1...
I trimmed the hole to make it longer at the top by 1/2 ". That gives it plenty of room and I have guy ready to make me a custom boot tomorrow. He's going to sew directly to the B&M rubber base ( after sectioning it) so there is a lip to hold the leather boot. I'll post a pic when it's done.

Cool, you need me to call you at all then? I think its really based on where you mounted the bracket. Cause you can move that as you please to flow with the hole in the console.

No I guess no call is needed. I should not have assumed it would all line up w/o them having my truck to build off of. I did not think taking it all apart and moving the shifter would be worth it as I would have to re-drill the cable hole and go thru the hell of the cable for a 3rd time since I was probably going to need a custom boot anyway. The rubber boot is just too thick for the increased mounting angle. I think w/ the leather boot it will look similar to the Hammer shifter. It comes w/ a leather/vinyl boot.

BTW, the mounting position based on the bracket's original; design puts the shifter in a perfect position w/ the longer handle. Good call on original design.

Thanks, he designed it with my truck there, so made it easier. I just mocked it up using some random wood, haha.

OK got boot made today. They could not follow the original plan of using the rubber base to hold it in place so they created a "frame" for the base out of the "cardboard" they use for door panels, attached the boot to it, drilled 2 holes at the top and bottom of the opening for the shifter and used some clips to attach it. I used some velcro strips to hold the wire for the OD button as the plastic zip ties looked like hell.

Thanks. I'll post a better pic later. Where on the dash did you put the button? I assume you don't use it much as you race this truck, but how accessable/ easy to reach is it while driving?

I put it where the little cubby hole is next to the steering column on the dash. Got a little square momentary switch from radio shack and it worked great.

It works and its maybe 30lbs worth of shit. I drove around with no carpet and wow was it loud and annoying. So I will give up .03 in the quarter mile to have a nice quite truck.

Gotcha. My truck is AWD so I don't have that cubby. That's where the AWD switch is.

I was just joking...Yeah it's loud, it's annoying...And without a headliner & AC it's hot....BUt for the occasional trip from garage to trailer... It's all good.

I plan on doing something to replace the headliner, but mine had cig burns from the previous owner, and a hole where the overhead console was...So I junked it...But there's no way would I pull out all of the interior on a daily driver.

That's where mine was when I had OD...That's where the 4x4 switch is if you have a 4x4.

Specs? I don't know them, he makes the brackets. The console just has a hole cut in it and fiberglassed over. Takes some time to do it.

I was most wondering about the specs for the bracket the shifter is bolted to. How many inches is the rise and the angle if you know.what did you fiber glass? I didn't notice any in the pics?
