I was had a Accel performance coil 140021, I bought the adapter to go with it and about 3 months later the contacts on the stock distributor burned out. Could it have been because of the aluminum contacts, if I go with the Accel distributor cap and rotor will it do the same? (it has brass contacts)

I am using the truck as a DD and I am going to do some upgrades like cam and trottle body when I refreshen up the motor and also a M1 intake the exhaust has been done.

Trying to bring this truck back from the dead it has a 171000 miles on the stock motor and the guy I bought it from just ragged this truck out.

Brass contacts will work better, but with a hot ignition you'll still be replacing them more often, I usually do mine about every 10k miles.

Ok, I didn't know that I am still wondering why the coil went bad, do you think when the distributor went out if could have taken out the coil?

Your Accel coil went bad, or the stock one?

I've been running an Accel brass cap and rotor for 2 years now. No problems yet. I run a MSD blaster coil with it.

The Accel coil went bad with the stock cap and rotor. I was going to reorder a new Accel coil, cap and rotor this time.
