i actually like the trophy. mine is glowing like a lighthouse on dresser next to my TV with my other trophy's.

they always have weird trophy's at that show. its kinda their thing. looking at my past ones from that show i have a eagle head and Oscar golden statue guy thing.

i actually like the trophy. mine is glowing like a lighthouse on dresser next to my TV with my other trophy's.Make sure to keep it next to a window. I can't even keep those solar powered lights lit on my walkway. :)

Honestly, it was nice to win something, but I thought that there were R/T's that deserved to win much more than mine. I have done nothing to this truck other than to keep it maintained and babied. The other trucks had heart and soul put into them. My heart is into other projects (hence reason for selling it). As cheezy as the trophy was, it deserved to go to someone else.

What category were u in? A few of us were in modern instead of modified. No chance to get anything when there was 100 new cars in that category .

Did anyone catch the 1967 Dakota R/T?

http://dakotart.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=3120&stc=1&d=1274056849

Just joking. :D It was a Valiant "pick-up" from New Zealand with a slant 6. I never knew these existed and found it pretty interesting.

What category were u in? A few of us were in modern instead of modified. No chance to get anything when there was 100 new cars in that category .When I went up to register they asked if I was modern (1975 to present). That is all they asked me. I never told them stock, modified, etc.

I know the award was not in the modified class as those trophies went out first and I was one of the last to receive mine.

I originally went just to show without judging. After walking around and looking at all of the other cars that were competing I decided to change to judged to help support the chances of the R/T club.

racer4 and I decided to walk up to the registration booth to see how to change the entry. It was a mess there. There were about 10 people in front of me in line in the modern category (none in te other lines). When I got near the front I was handed registration info to fill out. I actually registered for judging without actually paying at this time.

While walking back, I thought to myself that nobody would even notice if I did not pay the extra fee. Even though I would have loved to save 5 bucks, I went up to the guy at the entry and paid him. I am just not that type of person. Maybe honesty put in a good word with the carma gods for me :)

I just hope the guys from Indiana that came weren't disappointed and was worth the trip.I doubt anyone would say it was not worth the trip. I drove an hour and had a great time. Everyone I talked to was super cool and I had a great time hanging out with everyone. I haven't been hanging out in this forum much, but I hope to. And even if I sell my R/T, I hope I can still hang with you guys if I show up with my Ram. :)

Work is way more important, hoping this is just a beginning to more meet and greets. My radiator had a cloth cover to hide it during the show and I do have a fan, just didn't show up in the pix.

Great pics guys! It was nice meeting everyone and putting a face to a truck. I didn't know anything about the modern mopar day at Byron and its not on their schedule yet but I should be able to make the 10 minute trek to the strip lol. I still haven't pulled the little orange tab on my trophy but I think it'll make a nice little trophy collection light haha.
